The trends in the education market make one thing clear: EdTech startups are crucial for shaping the future education landscape. As an EdTech location, NRW is showing how targeted support can lay the perfect foundations for strengthening Germany as a whole as an education location.
The use of innovative EdTech solutions can be an effective strategy to improve the education and training of employees while closing the gaps in the labor market in the wake of the shortage of skilled workers. Given the technological changes and automation trends, it is important that employees have the skills and competencies required for the jobs of the future. For this, innovative EdTech startups are necessary for Germany as a business location.
While forward-looking technologies such as blockchain, virtual reality or augmented reality still have almost no relevance for the education system, artificial intelligence is a trend that is sure to stay. Already today, every seventh EdTech startup uses this technology - and the trend is rising.
Why are data and insights from the EdTech Next report relevant?
The education technology industry is undergoing remarkable change, and sound data is critical to understanding and leveraging that change.
The Founders Foundation in Bielefeld has launched the EdTech Next Initiative to provide targeted support for innovative projects in the education sector. With an international network at its side, the initiative connects startups from NRW with potential customers worldwide and provides access to crucial investment capital.
Within its first year, the EdTech Next initiative has already achieved impressive success: Four startups were supported with an impressive total amount of 1.45 million euros from Investor:innen. In addition, 17 teams are currently being prepared in the incubation program to enter the market with their technological education solution.
The data from the EdTech Next Report therefore offers a deep insight into the potential and dynamics of this sector and is indispensable for anyone interested in the future of education technology.
